Reasoning
Q) Six plays
A,B,C,D,E,F are to be staged from Monday to Sunday with one day being an off
day, though not necessarily in the same order. Each play has a different time
duration of 30 minutes,60 minutes,90 minutes,120 minutes,150 minutes and 180
minutes and again not in the same order.
Sunday is not the off day and the play of 30 minutes duration was staged on that day. Play A got staged immediately before Play E.there are two plays between play F and Play C.play F is of 180 minutes duration and play C is of 90 minutes duration.
The off day is after the staging of play E and there are two days between off day and play A. Play D is for 120 minutes and not staged on monday.the play staged immediately before off day is of 180 minutes. Play A is less than 150 minutes.

Let’s start this
question
From
Sunday is not the off day and the play of 30 minutes duration was staged on that day. So
Sunday is not the off day and the play of 30 minutes duration was staged on that day. So

From
there are two plays between play F and Play C.
F
is of 180 minutes duration and play C is of 90 minutes duration.
So arrangement will be
either

and the
play staged immediately before off day is of 180 minutes
So using above figures
the possible figures will be
EITHER

TRICKY
PART OF THIS QUESTION IS THAT THERE WILL BE A PERFECT ARRANGEMENT FROM BOTH
FIGURES PROVIDED ABOVE AND THEY WILL FULFILL ALL CONDITION GIVEN IN THE
QUESTION, SO YOU CAN JUDGE THE CORRECT ARRANGEMENT ONLY AFTER READING THOSE 5-7
QUESTIONS GIVEN TO US WHICH WILL BE SOLVED BY CORRECT ARRANGEMENT
ONLY.
Now we consider FIRST FIGURE

F

XX
|
XX
|
C
|
|

Now using the
statement
From
there are two days between off day and play A
and
Sunday will be of 30 minutes
Resultant figure will
be
|
Mon
|
Tue
|
Wed
|
Thu
|
Fri

|
|
A
|
E
|
F
|

|
C

||
|
180
|
90
|
30
|
From the statement D is of 2 hrs, we conclude D will be on Friday because
Sunday will stage play of 30 minutes
and from Play A
is less than 150 minutes only 60 minutes slot is left and final arrangement will be as
below
|
Mon

B

150

Now in this figure
there is only one person between F and C so this figure is not correct
To prove this i take up an
example.
Q) Which day is Off day
a) Tuesday
b) Monday
c) Friday
d) Saturday
e) Cannot be Determined
If we try to answer this
question, no option matches with our answer i.e. Thursday, so this arrangement
is not correct
So we consider other
arrangement

So
From, there are two
days between off day and play A
Off … … A
or
A … ….. Off
but Off … …. A cannot
be possible because there are only 7 days and if we use Off.. … A the days will
become above 7

Following Question was
asked in OBC PO exam So i thought of giving explanation to it
Seven animated movies
Up
Finding Nemo
Ice Age
Aladin
Shark tale
Beauty
The Incredibles
were screened in a workshop not necessarily in thee same order. The workshop started on Monday and ended on Sunday. Only one movie was screened on each day.
Up
Finding Nemo
Ice Age
Aladin
Shark tale
Beauty
The Incredibles
were screened in a workshop not necessarily in thee same order. The workshop started on Monday and ended on Sunday. Only one movie was screened on each day.
Beauty was screened on Wednesday. The
Incredibles was screened on fourth
day after Up was screened. Ice age was screened before thursday but not on Monday. Shark Tale and Aladin were not screened on saturday but Shark talewas screened before Saturday.
Now we will start from
Beauty was screened on Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Sunday
|
The
Incredibles was screened on fourth
day after Up was screened
So pattern will be
UP
–
–
–
The Incredibles
and this is only
possible if UP is screened on Monday or tuesday
Ice
age was screened before Thursday
but not on Monday.
So Ice Age will automatically come to Tuesday and thus UP will be screened on Monday and The Incredibles will be on Friday

Saturday

Sunday
|
Shark
Tale and Aladin were not screened on saturday but Shark tale was screened before Saturday.
So Shark Tale will
come on Thursday and Aladin on Sunday.
Nemo will
automatically come n Saturday
